Walking

You will go on silent walks in stunning nature. Walking in silence is a powerful way to deeply connect with yourself, your body, and nature around. The rhythm of walking naturally calms the mind, allowing the being to open up to inspiration and insight. Each step taken mindfully brings you back to the present moment. It is a way to find peace, joy and a greater sense of connection.

Meditation

Starting the days with yoga & meditation and the guided meditations during the walks will help you to become more present. Your heart, mind and soul will come to rest and from that place the right questions can be asked and answers can flow more easily. You can let go of worries and loops of thinking that bring you no where.

Connection

In this retreat silence plays an important role but it is not a fully silent retreat. The program offers the possibility to combine silence with connection. During the walks we will be in silence, when we arrive back silence is optional allowing space for sharing about life’s experiences so that we can be of support to each other, inspire each other and just feel the power of human connection.

Experience the power of nature

This retreat is really for those who love the outdoors. Enjoy four days of hiking through the beautiful scenery in a small group guided by an experienced meditation teacher who loves and knows her surroundings very well.

Ellen will take you to the most beautiful places of Spanish nature. The landscape is diverse, as we walk through hills, forests, fields, and farms. We meditate under the trees, swim in crystal-clear water at a natural spring, and shower under the waterfall.

The combination of meditation, yoga, silent walking and sharing gives the opportunity for deep insights and powerful connections. The profound imprint of the retreat experience will help you to bring mindfulness and awareness into your day to day life, supporting you to live in a wise, happy and fulfilling way.

About the retreat

Program

Days will be started by yoga and meditation followed by a healthy breakfast. Our day walk in silence brings us to stunning places. When arriving back there is time for a break allowing space for resting, writing, reading or sharing. You can just tune in to what you feel like in the moment. 

The program combines silence with connection and meditation with physical activity. A unique experience that will refresh your energy and help you bring mindfulness and awareness into your day to day life.

At the end of the afternoons there will be guided sharing circles in which Ellen will reflect on the events and theme of the day from a Buddhist philosophic perspective. Since we will be in a small group of maximum 6 participants Ellen can really tune into what is relevant for each participant and the group as a whole.
The evenings will have a program of meditation, sound healing, dancing or sitting by the camp fire.

Retreat yourself in nature

A small house situated in a quiet green valley without traffic, street lights or internet will be the base for our walks. Enjoy living in the middle of nature, wake up with the songs of the birds and go to bed with the stars in the sky. This unique place provides an enormous amount of peace. 

It’s delightful to spend time in nature and fully enjoy the sunny Spanish climate.

You will sleep in a tiny house or bell tent that you share with max 2 other participants. A single room is available at extra cost. The meals are freshly prepared with vegetarian ingredients.

For this reteat it is necessary that you are physically fit and love a challenge here and there.

Practical information

Walking retreat Spain

The retreat starts at 2:00 p.m. on the first day with a shared lunch. There is time to get to know each other and settle in. Around 4:00 p.m we meet and for an introduction and the retreat setup is explained. Then we will enjoy our first silent walk.
After breakfast on the last day, the retreat ends. It is usually possible to stay for an extra night before and/or after the retreat.

Investment

The cost of participating in the  retreat is €580,- for the full retreat,  including accomodation in a shared room or bell tent, delicious healhty meals and pick up/drop off from Xativa train station.

Travel info

We will arrange a free pick up from Xativa train station at 1 pm. The nearest airports are Valencia and Alicante. From there you can travel to the city of Xativa by public transport, taking about 2 hours from Valencia and 3 hours from Alicante. After registration, you will receive a clear travel description. If you are coming by car, we will send you directions. We can arrange a taxi from the airport for an additional cost.
